Join us in NYC
September 25 - October 13 for our world premiere production of
LAST CALL, a play with cocktails
The Pack is a theater collective formed following the award-winning production of Wolf Play (Soho Rep and Ma-Yi Theater, MCC), with a mission to create theatrical gatherings that necessitate the presence of an audience, while fostering a collaborative culture for the new play development process that prioritizes financial and artistic equity for all collaborators involved. They are interested in dreaming up alternative models to the industry standard, which positions the play document as Step One, the direction and design as Step Two, and the insertion of actors as Step Three—piecemealing together an event that is meant to exist as a unified whole.
Works in development include plays TERRA FIRMA (Commissioned by MTC & Arena Stage), YOU LOST MY MARBLES (Commissioned by Salmira Productions), and PENNIES (Semi-finalist for Relentless Award); Musicals BACKYARD BOYS, and UNDESIRABLES; as well as a new play reading series “Nightingale" curated for and by playwrights outside the Pack.
Select development support includes En Garde Arts' Uncommon Voices, Berkeley Rep's Ground Floor; residencies at Mercury Store, New York Stage and Film, and New York Theater Workshop, Ars Nova, Playwrights Horizons, and the Public Theater, as well as teaching residencies at Texas Tech University, Duke University, and James Madison University.
The Pack is grateful to find the perfect producing partner in En Garde Arts, for their very first World Premiere of their Very First Production.
